KATHMANDU: National Campus, Reliance Academy, Golden Gate ‘A’ and Morgan International College advanced to the quarter-finals of the first Bir Ganesh Man Memorial Inter-college Basketball Championships here on Saturday. National thrashed U2 College 51-27, while Reliance defeated Texas 40-29. Golden Gate ‘A’ saw off Bridgewater 40-31 and Morgan cruised to a 50-30 win over Golden Gate ‘B’.
Nirman claims title
KATHMANDU: Nirman Bogati claimed the first Handicap Snooker Championship defeating Sujan Pun 23-76, 53-46, 93-20, 64-52, 40-72, 43-82, 90-71, 50-43 here on Saturday. Tika Shrestha and Pramod Shrestha finished joint third. Earlier, Nirman thrashed Pramod 4-0 and Tika lost to Sujan 4-3 in semi-finals. In all, 64 players participated in the four-day event organised by Cue Group.
TT Referee Training
BHAKTAPUR: Referee Training Course, organised by the Bhaktapur District Table Tennis Association, concluded here on Saturday. In all, 30 players from Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Kavre, Dang, Banke, Dhanusha, Mahottari and Morang participated in the one-day course. Coach duo Shankar Gautam and Sushil Poudel conducted the course.
