Half of Khotang paddy fields awaits plantation

KHOTANG: There has been no paddy plantation in more than half the paddy fields in Khotang district.
According to the District Agriculture Development Office, Khotang, there has been plantation in only half the rice plantation area in the district and the rest still remains neglected as no water sources have sprouted.
It may take one or two weeks to complete the plantation as there was delayed monsoon after a long drought.
The district has paddy in 15, 202 hectares of land. This year the rice production may decline, the office has estimated.
