KATHMANDU: The Himalayan Bank Cup Golf Tournament is slated for Friday and Saturday at the Royal Nepal Golf Club (RNGC). Around 95 players are expected to participate in the event sponsored by Himalayan Bank. The event will be played under stableford 3/4 handicap format over 18 holes at the par-67 RNGC course. The women and juniors will play under full handicap.

Galaxy enter semi-finals

BHAKTAPUR: Galaxy Public School defeated Brihaspati School by seven wickets to enter the semi-finals of the fifth CoAS Inter-school Twenty20 Cricket Tournament on Thursday. Brihaspati scored 127-9 with Pratik Kanth contributing 34 and Prajwol Gurung chipping in 24 runs to the total. In reply, Galaxy surpassed the total for the loss of three wickets in 16 overs. Pasang Sherpa top scored for Galaxy with 38 while Nirnaya Baral hit unbeaten 29 and Bidhan Poudel 27 runs. Galaxy joined Rajan Memorial in the last four from Group ‘B’ while Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyalaya and Nepal Police School have made it to the semi-finals from Group ‘A’.

Prime, Premier triumph

LALITPUR: Prime and Premier College won the seventh KCM Basketball Bash here on Thursday. In the boys’ section final, Prime defeated Golden Gate International College 48-37 riding on 14 points from the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament Siddhartha Maharjan. Anish Shah top scored with 15 points for Golden Gate. Likewise, Premier denied Prime from completing a double, win 24-15 in girls’ section with MVP Anushka Malla chipping in eight points for the winners.
