LOS ANGELES: Actress-turned-singer Natalie Imbruglia is heading back to her TV roots - she's accepted a role as a judge on the Australian version of the X Factor.
The Torn hitmaker first found fame in her home country in the early 1990s with her role on hit Aussie soap opera Neighbours.
She left to launch a music career, finding global stardom with Torn, and has since released four albums.
But now it has emerged Imbruglia is to be a TV star Down Under once again - she's confirmed long-running rumours she will be a mentor and judge on Simon Cowell's hit singing show when its second season launches later this year (10).
Taking to her Twitter.com page, she writes, "Finally I can share my good news. I am off to Oz to be a judge on X Factor!! So excited. I love the show and can't wait to get started."
Imbruglia is not the only Aussie singer to grace The X Factor - Kylie Minogue's pop star sister Dannii is a judge on the U.K. version of the show.
So now, she uses that new professional Facebook account for her job in alumni relations at a small liberal arts college. In the evening, she shifts to her long-standing personal Facebook account, which has its security settings set as tightly as possible.
"It's important to separate," she says, "and to maintain a work-life balance."
