KATHMANDU: One of the most popular singers of Nepal Kumar Kancha is bed ridden due to paralysis after a spinal cord operation in Mumbai. His appeal for financial aid has been uploaded on Youtube and in order to support the singer in tough times like these a concert was held at the Patan Museum on

December 18.

Initiated by actress Namrata Shrestha ‘An evening for Kumar Kancha’ saw singers like Ram Krishna Dhakal, Hemanta Rana, Shreya Sotang, Dharmendra Sewan and bands like The Unity and Aghoor Band lending their voice to help the senior artiste.

“As a human being, I felt the responsibility to help him. We want him to know that he has well wishers here in Nepal. I like to be loved and cared about and wanted him also to feel the love we have. I hope this would motivate him to walk again.

This event also aims at motivating others to help and support the singer,” said Shrestha.

Songs like Jindagi ko ke cha ra bhara and Hari Om among others were performed during the evening. Many people showed their support for the singer by attending the small concert and by also buying his latest album Saino, which was launched at the event.

“You are not alone. We all are here with you,” said Sudin Pokhrel from the Unity. The money collected from the event will be given to the singer.
