KATHMANDU: Indigenous leaders and activists belonging to indigenous nationalities have issued the manifesto of the new party, which is still to be named, on Thursday.
Though janajatis were set to announce a new political outfit today, the decision was reserved at the request of some indigenous leaders and intellectuals citing the lack of enough homework.
On Wednesday they had proposed the name of the party as Social Democratic Plurinational Party.
But today (the day which is also marked as the 18th Indigenous People’s Day) they took a decision to collect public opinion on the formation of the party till October.
According to janajati leaders, the new party will get the final shape within three months.
A taskforce headed by Krishna Bhattachan will take imitative to collect public opinions. Chaitanya Subba, , Shanti Rai, Pashang Sherpa, Shankar Limbu, Nanda Kandangwa, Prem Kumari Budha ,Jyoti Danuwar, and Jit Pal Kirat are also the members of the taskforce.

I think we all are indigenous people in Nepal. Does it give any sense to form a new party to divide the already divided people? The Maoist party has already divided the united ethno-culture of Nepal by instigating people through this indigenous mantra to accomplish their vested interest, and the same mantra is tarnishing their image that they had built through hard fought 10-year long bloody war. Stop the slogan of caste and group! We are all equal and let's fight the social degradation, superstition and bad practice instead of inviting another bloody war to kill each other.
