KATHMANDU: Various political parties and rights groups have condemned yesterday’s deadly blast in Janakpur that killed four people and left 19 wounded.
Issuing a press statement, UCPN-Maoist party said terrorists were behind the incident. “Our party strongly condemns the bombing. We condole the death of innocent people,” it said. The party also urged the government to probe the incident, bring the culprits to book immediately and provide due compensation to the victims’ kin.
Nepali Congress, in a statement, condemned the attack and said it was a crime against humanity. The incident was meant to push the country into insecurity and instability, it said. “We demand that the government bring the guilty to book, declare the victims martyrs, provide reasonable compensation to the victims’ family and guarantee peace and security in the country.”
National Human Rights Foundation and Alliance of Women Rights Defenders condemned the incident and urged the government to ensure such incidents are not repeated in future.
