Japan is willing to invest more in Nepal



KATHMANDU: Japanese ambassador to Nepal Kunio Takahashi has said that Japan was willing to invest more in Nepal's infrastructure development.

"Japan wants to invest more in Nepal's physical infrastructure development. But, for this Nepal should have appropriate investment policy, security and environment," the Japanese Ambassador to Nepal said at programme organized by the Nepal Trade Union Congress-Independent in the capital today.

The Nepal Trade Union Congress-Independent has been implementing different income generating and skill-oriented trainings in association with the Japan International Labor Association.

The programme is being implemented in Bhaktapur and Parsa districts in the first phase.

During the programme, Secretary at the Ministry of Labour and Employment Sureshman Shrestha said the government was preparing for providing social security fund to the workers of informal sectors.

Chairman of Trade Union Congress-Independent Laxman Basnet and general secretary Achyut Raj Pandey said the workers of the informal sectors were also organized for protecting their rights.

Nepal representative of International Labor Organization Shailendra Jha said social security to the workers of the informal sector should be ensured.
