KATHMANDU: Embassy of Japan in association with Japan International Cooperation is organising a one-day Japan festival with the aim of promoting Japanese traditional and contemporary cultures on November 27. Visitors will witness various traditional Japanese cultures, cuisines, tea ceremony, ikebana, calligraphy, Yukata, karaoke and Japanese drums, said a press statement on Monday. The festival will demonstrate 40 years of activities and economic cooperation projects.

Pedllers paraded

KATHMANDU: Narcotic Drug Control Law Enforcement Unit on Monday made public 12 people caught with illegal drugs on different dates at different places. According to a press statement, 12 people were caught with 297 gram brown sugar, 7 kg marijuana and other banned drugs. The arrested are Shyam Krishna Shahi, Bikash Pode, Palandra Singh, Pasawan Shah, Ram Krishna Darji, Jitu Pariyar, Sanjaya Lama, Krishna Bahadur Khadka, Bijaya Aryal, Balram Thakur and Pramod Shah. Rolf Xaver Fahndrich was nabbed with 7 kg of Marijuana on November 21. — HNS
