JUMLA: The Taxpayer Service Office, Jumla has collected revenue of Rs 1.5 million during the month of Shrawan (Mid-July to Mid August) in the current fiscal year.
Established in 2068 BS, the office came to effect since July 16 this year.
Daily more than Rs 50,000 is being collected as a revenue at the office and more than 60 files have been received for PAN number, said Tax Officer DB Chhetri.
Number of application for PAN has increased with the implementation of Himali Project in Jumla, he added.
He noted that locals of Karnali region have taken PAN number for the first time for horse and lamb-keeping purpose.
So far 250 individuals have paid tax in Jumla while the number of VAT payers has exceeded 50.
Folks of Karnali have been freed from approaching Internal Revenue Office for tax payment with the set up of taxpayer service office nearby.
