KATHMANDU: Bozen-Bolzano city of Italy has handed over fire engines, and rescue operation materials to Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC).
Fire Brigade Chief at Bozen-Bolzano Ernest Prayer passed on the materials to Kedar Bahadur Adhikari, executive chief at KMC on Sunday.
KMC received a 30-metre long ladder, a fire engine capable of carrying 2200 litres of water and 400 litres of firefighting foam, a small fire engine capable of carrying 400 litres of water and which can even enter the narrow roads of Kathmandu.
KMC also obtained a heavy rescue truck to carry out rescue operation, a light rescue truck, and a jeep.
The first fire engine had entered Nepal from then Great Britain in the year 1937 during the period of Juddha Shumsher
