KATHMANDU: The government has decided to give complete exemption of the Value Added Tax (VAT) being levied on kerosene.


The decision was made by the meeting of the Council of Ministers to be effective from today for the fiscal year 2069-70 BS, said Finance Minister Barshaman Pun.


The meeting has decided to hand over the management of the Annapurna Conservation Area for six months to the National Nature Conservation Trust (NNCT) and directed the Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation to make alternate arrangements for the management of the Area in the days ahead.



The government also decided to install in the post of IT Expert, gazetted first class (technical) of the Nepal Miscellaneous Services in the additional group of the Ministry of General Administration by promoting Birendra Kumar Mishra on the recommendation of the Public Service Commission.


The cabinet also decided to give consent to maintain as settlement area the final portion of the 1630 meters from 23+ 360 to 24+630 of the Gorkha Bazaar portion of the Anbukhaireni-Gorkha Road.


Similarly, the government decided to send Nepal Law Commission Secretary Rajendra Kishor Chhetri to Japan to participate in the preparatory meeting on Civil Code to run from August 11- August 25.


The meeting also endorsed the Arms and Ammunitions Seventh Amendment Regulations- 2069 BS. Likewise, it also accepted the resignation tendered by Acting Auditor General Khem Prasad Dahal.



The government decided to promote Colonel Gaurav Tandul of Nepal Army and install to the post of Brigadier General and promote and install NA Lieutenant Colonel duo Binaya Bikram Rana and Mindhwoj Khadka to the post of colonel.



The government also decided to give consent to Major General Pradip Bikram Rana of Nepal Army to compete for appointment of Deputy Force Commander (DFC) of the UN Peace Mission in Congo (MONUSCO Mission).
