DHANKUTA: Chairman of the CPN (UML) and former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal said today that the seven-point agreement signed by major political parties on November 1 could take the peace process to its logical conclusion.

Unveiling a statue of the pioneering communist leader Nar Bahadur Kuthumi at Chungbang of Dhankuta today, he claimed the agreement was useful as the parties were able to bring the agreement into implementation and the peace process will be concluded.

He said UML is committed for the implementation of the agreement urging other parties to bring the agreement into practice.

UML Chairman Khanal urged all to give up the militaristic thinking saying that even the party that was moving ahead to bring change in the country through arms had also come into peace process.

He said Nepal is not poor but it was made poor, and we could make the nation prosperous economically if we could manage to invest in water resources and agriculture sector.

Chairman Khanal also was also scheduled to inaugurate the 32nd Martyrs Memorial Day in Chhintang of Dhankuta, today.
