NEW DELHI: Bollywood couldn’t have had it better. Hollywood superstar Nicole Kidman signed up on May 19 to star in a film produced and financed by Yash Raj Films Entertainment. In a first for the Indian film industry, YRF, the international arm of the production house managed by former actor Uday Chopra, has joined hands with French filmmaker Pierre-Ange Le Pogam to produce and finance Grace of Monaco, featuring Nicole Kidman.
“Grace... is the kind of movie that has a perfect blend of talent and sensibility that YRF Entertainment is proud to be a part of. We look forward to a great partnership with Olivier and Pierre-Ange,” said Chopra, about the film that will go on the floors this fall in southern France. The announcement was made during at Cannes.
“When Olivier and I met Kidman for the first time, we immediately felt she was the right artist to portray Princess Grace. When I met Uday, I had the same feeling after our conversation. He was obviously the right partner because of his beautiful vision of the movie,” Le Pogam said in a statement.
