SIRAHA: Three days after his abduction, Govinda Yadav, first class non-gazetted officer posted at the Siraha Drinking Water and Sanitation Division Office Lahan was released today.
Indian police found Yadav on Manpur Bridge at Khutauna with his hands and legs tied. Yadav was handed over to the Nepal police today. He is undergoing treatment at the Lahan-based Friends’ Hospital.
Yadav’s relatives vented their ire and blocked the Chief District Officer Dhurba Prasad Dhakal and Siraha Police Chief Rajeshlal Karna when the latter reached the hospital to take stock of Yadav’s health condition.
Meanwhile, police arrested Shuva Narayan Yadav, peon at the Drinking Water and Sanitation Office for interrogation on Tuesday. Employees have accused the police of torturing the peon.
Employees Agitation Struggle Committee chairman Pradip Goit today made public six-point agitation programme against the alleged police highhandedness.
They have announced protest programmes including closure of the all the government offices in the district for six days.
