Land transaction up in Dhorpatan area

BAGLUNG: Land transaction has increased in the Dhorpatan area over the years. The country's only hunting reserve - the Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve - is situated here and the area is a famous within and outside the country as a tourism site.
Dhorpatan is four days' trek from the district headquarters of Baglung. Businessmen from within Baglung district and neighbouring districts have started buying land in the area.
The price of one ropani plot in Dhorpatan has now increased to one million rupees from Rs 5,000 some 20 years back.
According to the District Land Revenue Office, Baglung land transactions have shot up in Dhorpatan over the years and the office transferred land-ownership in the name of 355 people in a single village in the last two years alone.
