DAMAULI: Relief funds has been distributed today to the families of those seven who died after the wall of Sai Bahadur BK’s house collapsed at Tyamkedanda of Jamune, Tanahu last Thursday. The wall fell to pieces when landslide followed by incessant rainfall caused the tragic incident.
A committee was formed just to provide Rs 40,200 to the victim families. DSP Gautam Raj Kattel distributed the relief funds to the relatives of the deceased. Traders, organisations and people from different walks of life of Damauli bazaar contributed the donation amount, said the committee chairperson Bel Bahadur Adhikari.
Sai’s wife Rupa, daughters Purnima and Divya, sister Samjhana, neighbours Sushma and her daughter Rekha and another neighbour Durga died in the landslide.
In similar gesture, the Damauli Drinking Water and Sanitation Consumers Committee has provided Rs 2,000, Barahi Women Multi Purpose Cooperative Organisation Rs 4,000 and the Red Cross Byas Sub-committee Rs 5,000 to the victim families today.
