KATHMANDU: Law Day is being celebrated today to commemorate the day when Pradhan Nyayalaya Ain (Supreme Court Act) was promulgated.
The Supreme Court Act was issued on Baisakh 26, of 2008 BS.
Lawyers, advocates, members of Nepal Bar Association, journalists, human right activists, law experts, and political leaders are marking this day by organising various programmes to reflect on the rule of law and status of human rights and democracy inside the country.
The Supreme Court is also set to organise a programme on its premises to mark Law Day today.
Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi has already wished everyone on the occasion.
