LONDON: The model-turned-actress - who stars alongside Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart in the upcoming fairytale adaptation - revealed getting into character was a ''bizarre experience''.
The 24-year-old star said: ''It was a very bizarre experience. I watched the make-up artists apply it and it was certainly very surreal. I started thinking, 'What will I be like as an old lady, physically and mentally?'
''It made me quite reflective and quite sad actually - it all got a bit deep.''
Lily plays a young girl transformed into a haggard old lady by the evil Queen Ravenna, and she confessed working alongside Charlize and Kristin was a ''huge pull'' in accepting the role.
She explained: ''I loved the strong, female characters and the script is such a page-turner. It's a very dark take on something everyone knows so well. I was so keen to work with Rupert Sanders, the director - he's so intelligent and talented.
