KAPILVASTU: Lumbini-based entrepreneurs have demanded the government to run the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) round the clock and open six more border points to India to make the Visit Lumbini Year-2012 a success.

Presently, the TIA is operating from 6 in the morning to 12:00 at night.

Similarly, they have demanded to open Aligahawa and Khunba check points in Kapilbastu, Kakarhawa and Bethalaiya in Rupandehi, and Mahespur and Bhainsalotan border points in Nawalparasi in a bid to lure more Indian and third world tourists in Lumbini.

Tourism entrepreneur Sanjya Bajimaya said such demand was kept as most of the tourists visiting Lumbini come via land routes through India.

He said, "Tourists come to Lumbini only through Belaiya border points. Other borders should be opened to make the VLY-2012 a success."

The government has targeted to bring in one million tourists in Lumbini during the VLY-2012.
