RAJBIRAJ: Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum-Madhes has decided to participate in the upcoming November 19 Constituent Assembly elections. Organising a press conference following the party’s central committee meeting at Saptari’s Paterwa on Saturday, party chairman Bhagya Nath Prasad Gupta informed that his party would take part in the CA elections and raise the issue of one Madhes one pradesh vociferously. Gupta ruled out the possibility of electoral alliance with any Madhes-centric parties. Stating that his party had refrained from the past CA elections due to its strong reservation about the election system, Gupta said his party will take part in in the upcoming election to raise its issues at the elected CA. MJF-Madhes will file candidacies from Jhapa, Saptari, Morang, Sunsari, Siraha, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rautahat,
Bara, Parsa, Kapilvastu and Nawalparasi.
‘Vote on said date’
DHULIKHEL: Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development Bidhyadhar Mallik said on Saturday that the Constituent Assembly election would be held on November 19 at any cost. Speaking at a function in Kavre, Minister Mallik expressed hope that even the disgruntled parties would participate in the November polls. He said the parties that refrain from the CA polls would be at loss. Urging the public not to harbour any suspicion about the poll, Minister Mallik said that the government and the High Level Political Committee would resolve all the issues soon. He urged all the parties and leaders to help create an atmosphere for the polls.
Tractor kills one
PARASI: Moti Prasad Poudel, a resident of Nawalparasi, who was in his early sixties, died on the spot after a tractor hit him at Motibasti on Saturday evening. The tractor, which was carrying sand, was heading for Laguna from Bardaghat when the accident happened, police said. Police have impounded the tractor and arrested the driver.
