KATHMANDU: The meeting of the central committee of the UCPN-Maoist has begun at the party's central office at Parisdanda, Koteshwor on Friday afternoon.
The meeting that was slated for 11 am was delayed as the internal preparations for it could not be completed on time. Earlier today, a meeting of the party's office-bearers fixed the agenda for the CC.
The CC meeting is being held for the first time after the Sixth Expanded Meeting of the party held in Palungtar, Gorkha district from November 21 to 28.
Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' is expected to present an integrated document before the Central Committee by incorporating the suggestions forwarded at the Palungtar plenum by Vice-Chairmen Mohan Baidya and Dr Baburam Bhattarai, and the members of the party's different state committees.
A source in the party said the Central Committee meeting will also discuss how the party is to present itself in the special session of the Legislature-Parliament on December 19. It is said the meeting might prolong for some days.
