Maoist Chairman Dahal is criticised for his lavish lifestyle from within and outside the party.

KATHMANDU: UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Sunday directed his secretariat to return the high-priced vehicle that the state provided him for his personal use.
"I have directed to return the vehicle so as to start the implementation of the party's decision first by myself," Dahal told THT Online.
Annoucning that he would give up the ostentatious lifestyle, Dahal had said at the party's plenum yesterday that he would not use the lavish Prado and leave the multi-million rupees mansion in Lazimpat, where he is currently residing, as soon as possible. He said he would use the state facililties that the state would provide him as a former prime minister.
The white Prado (Ba 5 Pa 1029) that the Maoist chairman was using on the capacity of a former prime minister for over a couple of months would be returned to the authorities at Singha Durbar, Dahal's chauffeur Kumar Bishwokarma informed.
According to him, Dahal had stopped using the vehicle since Friday. "He has been using another vehicle owned by the party for some days," Bishwokarma said.
