POKHARA: Unified CPN-Maoist, Kaski District Working Committee member Indra Jung Gurung has been missing since a week, sources said today. According to party sources Indra Jung had left Pokhara for his brother’s treatment in B and B Hospital of Lalitpur and has since gone missing from July 6. In a press meet organised today, the party has requested human rights activists, civil society, journalists and concerned bodies of the government to help search for the missing party member. Party’s district secretary Bakhan Singh Gurung issued a memorandum and appealed everybody to save the life of Indra Jung. Not only the party, but 11 other social organisations he was associated with have also requested one and all to help search for the missing cadre who was actively involved in political and social activities.
Indra Jung’s brother-in-law Bikram Gurung said that the former had called his sister from Kathmandu’s Dhobighat on July 6 saying that he was returning to Pokhara, but since then he has been out of contact.
Maoist Kaski in-charge Jhalak Pani Tiwari said that since it has been a week since he went missing, it appears that he might have been kidnapped.
