BANKE: Minister for Information and Communications Shankar Pokharel accused the UCPN-Maoist of obstructing the peace process by repeatedly talking about launching a people’s revolt on various pretexts.
Speaking at a press meet organised by Press Chautari Nepal‚ Banke on Thursday‚ he said that the Maoists pushed back the agendas of peace process and constitution writing which are of top priority.
He added that CPN-UML could no longer trust Maoist leaders as they urged Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal to resign from his post for the sake of the peace process and constitution writing.
Saying that Maoists have been plotting to extend the tenure of United Nation Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) and push back the peace process‚ constitution writing and arm management‚ he said the government will not extend UNMIN’s tenure as it was already agreed that the present term is its last tenure.
He also said that the media reports over Rubel Choudhary’s activities should be evaluated and urged media not to bring a big criminal to spotlight by hiding crime.
