DANG: Communist Party of Nepal (Mashal) General Secretary Mohan Bikram Singh today said the ruling UCPN-Maoist, the largest political party in the Constituent Assembly, is mainly to blame for the dissolution of the CA without the promulgation of the Interim Constitution.

Speaking at a press conference in Dang, Singh came down heavily on political parties represented in the CA for their inability to promulgate the constitution. “Because of their wayward ways, the country has plunged into a grave crisis. The UCPN-Maoist is mainly to blame for the failure to deliver the constitution as it is the largest party in the CA,” Singh, who is said to have indoctrinated UCPN-Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, said. The CA’s dissolution after its failure to deliver the constitution is a great misfortune for Nepal and the Nepalis, Singh said, adding that an uncertain future awaits the country with the issues of ethnicity and regionalism taking centrestage.

The Mashal leader decried the present government for its ‘unconstitutional move’ of announcing fress CA elections. He said a consensus government should have announced the polls after amending the Interim Constitution.
