Mentally unstable hacks rickshaw puller to death

ITAHARI: A rickshaw puller was hacked to death in Itahari of Sunsari district early this morning.
Identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained. One Kul Bahadur Rumdali Magar attacked the rickshaw puller with a khukuri at around 2:00 am. Twenty six-year-old Kul Bahadur is believed to have lost mental balance.
The incident took place at Itahari Chowk. The victim had sustained deep cuts on his head as well as different parts of the body.
The reason behind the incident is yet to be known. According to Sub Inspector of Police, Binod Shrestha, an investigation into the case is underway.
Kul Bahadur was seen in a state of undress at the main cross road in Itahari some two days ago. Following the incident, police arrested him from near the Eastern Regional Unit Office of Department of Revenue Investigation based in Itahari-5 along with a weapon.
The body of the deceased has been sent to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan for post-mortem.
