Microbus hit by bus kills woman working at field

KATHMANDU: A woman who was working at her field has been killed in a freak accident in Bishnu VDC on the northern outskirts of Kathmandu on Friday morning.
After a brake failure, a bus (Ba 1 Kha 7986) hit a microbus (Ba 2 Kha 2296) that was ferrying passengers and pushed it down to the field along the road at Deuba Chowk at around 7:45 am.
Rita Ramtel (32) was critically injured after the microbus unexpectedly knocked her down . As many as 11 passengers on board the vehicle were injured in the incident.
Along with Ramtel all the injured were rushed to the Anamol Hospital, where she died.
The other injured have been shifted to the Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for further treatment.
Police said they have taken the bus driver into their custody.
