LONDON: When she chopped all of her hair off into a short blonde crop last month, she shocked the world.
And now the motive behind Miley Cyrus's hardcore punk look has been revealed, reported the Daily Mail on Friday.
New promotional images of the 19-year-old singer and actress have emerged, serving as a promo for her upcoming studio album.
In the snaps, Miley rocks her new hairdo all whilst doing a series of sexy poses.
Suggestively twirling her platinum blonde quiff in her fingers, the teenager displays plenty of flash in a pair of racy leather trousers and a cropped white top.
The vampy theme is completed with lashings of black lipstick on her lips and a smouldering stare.
In another snap, Miley is seen hamming it up with a necklace featuring giant red lips.
The former Hannah Montana also experiments with a Fifties-style too, displaying her slim figure in black bralet and pretty floral pencil skirt for some more classic and elegant shots.
Miley also showed off her new quiff last night on the red-carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards.
The Hannah Montana star rocked the style as she slipped into very revealing black gown.
In an interview with Access Hollywood at the event, she continued to gush about her new hairstyle.
'It was the most amazing feeling — just taking the razor and finally doing it, buzzing the side,' Miley said. 'It just feels so much more me.'
She insisted the her husband-to-be and Hunger Games actor Liam Hemsworth also loved the new hairdo.
'My fiance loves it. He’s totally for it. He likes just being able to see my face,' she said. 'He thinks it suits me so much.'
Miley also revealed that her new hair is a big reflection of her music.
'I’m really, really excited to put out new music and look different,' she said.
'Actually, my new website came out today and it looks amazing. [I’m] just kind of showing everyone what direction I’m going into. I’m really happy.
'I think I’ve finally found out who I am, and it changes every freaking day, as you can tell. Every time I write a song, I feel like I can finally be me, because I’m not stuck into a label, all of these people telling me who to be.
'I get to write and work with amazing producers. It’s really fun!'
When Miley cut her hair last month the reaction to the crop - which was executed by Hollywood hairdresser Chris McMillan, the creator of Jennifer Aniston's infamous 'Rachel' haircut - was not exactly what she was hoping for.
Rapper Tyler the Creator was among the critics, tweeting, 'Your barber is an a**hole. He later deleted the comment.
She fired back not long after, writing: 'My dad Billy Ray Cyrus used to tell me, "Opinions are are like a**holes - everybody has one." LOVE my hair. Feel so happy, pretty, and free.'
She also wrote: 'if you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all.'
Miley initially tweeted a picture of herself at the moment her ballet bun was to be chopped off.
Obviously pleased with the outcome, the Hannah Montana star told her seven million followers: 'Never felt more me in my whole life'.
Meanwhile, it has emerged that MIley is to make a return to acting - to take up a guest role on Two and a Half Men.
The singer landed a supporting role on the CBS sitcom - and her character will be a world away from the role she had in her breakthrough Disney series Hannah Montana.
According to E! News, MIley is set to shake things up romantically when her 'sexy' character - a new girl in town - becomes the object of the male leads' affection.
Both Angus T. Jones' character Jake Harper and Ashton Kutcher's Walden Schmidt will both fall for the starlet in a storyline 'rife with comedy'.
