KATHMANDU: Raj Kumar Kumal (38) of Lamjung was killed after a tipper (Ba 2 Kha 6937) collided with the motorcycle he was riding on (Ba 42 Pa 4164), in Naagdhunga on Thursday. Police have arrested the driver. An investigation into the accident is underway. –– HNS

Suspicious death

KATHMANDU: An unidentified man, believed to be in his 20s, who was found lying unconscious in front of the Chabahil-based office of the Nepal Electricity Authority, died while undergoing treatment for his condition at the Om Hospital in the locality. The body has been sent to the Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu for a post-mortem. Police officials said they have launched an investigation to establish the identity of the victim.

Three injured

KATHMANDU: Bishwanath Shrestha (46), his wife Kalpana (40) and sister Sabi Shrestha (38) sustained burns as fire engulfed their home in Chalkhatole, Bajrayogini, on Thursday. According to estimates, the inferno has destroyed property worth two lakh rupees. According to police, the inferno started after a gas leak in the Shrestha household at around 9 pm on Thursday. The Shresthas are receiving treatment at the Sankhu-based Sushma Koirala Memorial Hospital.

Attackers nabbed

BHAKTAPUR: Police on Friday arrested Sanu Khadka, who, together with her son Bijaya, had allegedly attacked her husband, Raju Khadka, with a khukuri at their house in Duwakot, Bhaktapur. Police said that the woman and her son Bijaya had attacked Raju when a domestic dispute took a nasty turn. Raju sustained injuries in his back in the attack. He has been receiving treatment at the Gwarko-based based B&B Hospital in Lalitpur.
