BIRATNAGAR: Muslim community of Morang today organised a two-hour chakkajam in Biratnagar demanding that their concerns be addressed in the new constitution.
National Muslim Struggle Alliance, District Struggle Committee Morang staged the chakkajam from 2 pm in the afternoon that resulted in a long snarl-up of traffic along on the Koshi highway.
In the course of chakkajam, police also arrested two Muslim youth who were trying to enforce the chakkajam.
In order to avoid any untoward incident, local administration had deployed a large number of security forces at the site.
Meanwhile, speaking at a corner meeting organised during the chakkajam, Sahab Ahmed Guddu, the committee coordinator, warned that the Muslims were ready to take further action if the upcoming constitution fails to guarantee their rights.
