KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML are mulling ways to topple the incumbent Maoist-led government to form a national unity government.

The meeting between the leaders of the NC and the CPN-UML which is underway at the residence of General Secretary of Nepali Congress Prakash Man Singh in Chaksibari on Monday morning is expected to come up with new programmes of protest against the government.

The top leaders of opposition parties on Friday had organised a mass meeting to protest the government’s decision to go for fresh Constituent Assembly (CA) polls and warned of bold steps against the incumbent Maoist-led government.

Leaders of the both parties believe that the constitutional solution to the present impasse is possible only through the formation of national consensus government.

The oppositions are all set to intensify their protest if the Maoists paid no heed to the demands to form a national government at the earliest, and did not come to the terms of earlier pacts.

During the today’s meeting, they are also discussing on how they should move ahead in regard to the issue of federalism, the thorniest issue responsible for the demise of CA sans constitution.

Enough is enough - it has become a child's play for NC and CPN UML. There is no Politics in Nepal! gaunle, xxx

Prakash Man Singh and Yadav Kumar Nepal are not real leaders of anybody but the old-line familys of Brahmin, Chetri and Newars. They only represent corruption and greed and all that is bad in Nepali society. They are parasites feeding off the body of the nation of Nepal and have to removed like parasite with antibiotic of the Mao Body. Nobody is listening to them anymore. Nobody cares about them. The Himalayan Times needs to recognize that they are silly old fools who should not be paid any attention. parbati lama, Boston, USA
