KATHMANDU: A group led by a local leader of Madhesi Janadhikari Forum attacked the house of Nepali Congress Central Working Committee member Bimalendra Nidhi, also a Constituent Assembly member, in Janakpur and destroyed the property there, the Nepali Congress said.
Issuing a statement, the NC central office in Kathmandu condemned the attack and drew attention of the MJF towards the incident.
According to the NC, the group led by the chairman of MJF, Dhanusha, Shesh Narayan Yadav vandalised the entrance of Nidhi’s house, burnt hay and tyres there and misbehaved with the occupants.
“Nepali Congress draws attention of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum to carry out its programmes peacefully, and present itself as a responsible political party,” the statement said.
The party further asked the government to ensure security to the general people and take action against the ones involved in today’s incident.
