DANG: Cadres of Nepal Students’ Union and Nepal Tarun Dal, sister wings of Nepali Congress, on Tuesday have shut down Dang district demanding withdrawal of Supreme Court’s verdict against NC leader Khum Bahadur Khadka on graft charges.
An irate gang of cadres have vandalised a motorbike (Ra 1 Pa 1113) in front of Nepal Bank Ltd in Ghorahi of Dang district.
Police have detained three cadres – Tilak Pandey, Khim Bahadur Pun and Bishnu DC - in connection with the vandalism of the motorbike.
Normal lives have been crippled in Tusshipur, Narayanpur, Bhalubang, Lamahi, Gadhawa Bazaar and Orahi Bazaar due to bandh staged by the oraganisations. Transportation, educational institutes, market places have been seriously hit.
Supreme Court on August 14 had convicted NC leader Khum Bahadur Khadka of graft charges, slapping a fine of Rs 9.4 million along with a jail term for 18 months.
