NC to resume its CC meet today

KATHMANDU: While UCPN-Maoist has openly blamed Nepali Congress(NC) for failing to name its prime ministerial candidate and protracting the political deadlock, the Central Committee (CC) meeting of the Nepali Congress (NC) is scheduled to take place today also.
The CC meeting, which will take place after 1 pm at its party headquarters in Sanepa, will listen to those Central Working Committee members who are still to float their opinion over the two reports presented by General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula and Central Working Committee member Bhim Bahadur Tamang.
If Tamang’s report highlighted issues raised by indigenous people in relation to party’s stance in the new constitution, Sitaula had proposed that NC should take initiative to make an alliance with parties favoring federalism, democracy and republic and pressurize UCPN-Maoist to come to consensus.
Today’s meeting is also expected to exchange arguments among party members over whether to opt for the revival of the Constituent Assembly(CA) which expired on May 27 after failing to promulgate a new constitution, or the fresh poll to elect a new CA.
