KATHMANDU: A Central Committee meeting of the Nepali Congress held at the party headquarters in Sanepa on Monday has decided to submit a memorandum, urging President Dr Ram Baran Yadav not to sign the ordinance recommended by Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai tomorrow.
"Since Prime Minister Bhattarai has already been reduced to the status of a caretaker prime minister, his government cannot pass any kinds of bills nor would it be reasonable for Bhattarai to embark on a foreign trip to Reo De Janeiro," NC said in a statement issued today after the meeting.
NC has strongly condemned the Maoist Chairman Prachanda’s statements made public through media recently that “Nepali Army has already come under the Maoist party, the party still has weapons and capturing the state power is the ultimate goal.”
The CWC meeting has also demanded martyr status for Radheshyam Jonchhe, who had been shot at a decade ago by the then Maoists, passed away recently.
The meeting has also wished a speedy recovery for Chairman of Rastirya Janashakti Party Surya Bahadur Thapa, who is undergoing treatment at Norvic Hospital after he suffered from heart attack.
The CWC has also paid a tribute to democratic leader Sailaja Acharya on the occasion of her third death anniversary. Leader Sailaja had passed away on Jestha 29, 2066.
