KATHMANDU: Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) has set preconditions for talks with government.
We are sitting in talks with government after 11am but talks will make headway only if our preconditions are addressed, said Chairman of NEFIN Raj Kumar Lekhi.
Some required conditions beforehand (floated by agitating NEFIN activities) include:
a. Medical expenses to those who have been injured during bandh in clash with police.
b. Release those who have been detained in course of demonstration.
Until government assures of providing free medical treatment to our injured cadres, talks will not make any progress, said Lekhi issuing a press statement on Monday.
Lekhi has also appealed activists to make the bandh demanding identity-based federalism in new statute, peaceful.
