NSC sets Nepal sports model

KATHMANDU: A meeting presided over by Chairperson of National Sports Council and Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has set the model of Nepali sports.
After the meeting, NSC Member-Secretary Yubaraj Lama said the Nepali model is based on Japanese, Chinese and Indian models.
The meeting has decided to form School Sports Development Board and School Sports Association, he added.
The meeting also decided to institute national genius sports award in the name of Olympian Bhupendra Silwal and Ganga Bahadur Thapa.
Similarly, the NSC has decided to organize Pokhara Sports Festival in the month of Chaitra this year so as to develop Pokhara as a tourism sports hub.
