KATHMANDU: Nai Prakashan today announced awards to be conferred on 10 different personalities for their contribution in different areas.
Issuing a press statement today, Nai Prakashan said Nai Chandra Dhan Award will be conferred on Akhanda Jyoti Baba, chief of Muktinath Shrine, Kamalanayanacharya of Baglung, for his contribution in promotion and preservation of religion and culture.
Likewise Nai Ramlaxmi Award will be given to a Manisha Bista, a third gender, for Bista’s significant role in uniting sexual minorities in Nepal.
Nai Kirtinidhi Award will be awarded to Prof Suredra KC, Nai Ishwor Baral Award to Prof Mahadev Awasthi, Nai Bhajapa Award to linguist Giriraj Acharya and Nai Ishwor Ballav Award to lyricist Prakat Pageni.
Similarly, Nai Rekha Award to littérateur Baba Basnet, Nai Koili Devi Award to singer Dhiraj Rai and Nai Durga Ganesh Prize to anthology of poem titled ‘Ago’ by Dibas Shah.
Each award carries a purse of Rs 20,000 and a letter engraved in copper plate.
