BHAKTAPUR: Nepali Congress (NC) Treasurer Chitralekha Yadav has said that national consensus was only an alternative to give outlet to current political problem.
Inaugurating the constituency level convention of NC, Bhaktapur, Constituency-1, she further said that the recent discussion initiated by the political parties should turn to consensus, as it is inevitable for the country and people.
It is positive that the political parties, which could not even sit together in the past, have now initiated discussions for consensus, Yadav said, adding that consensus should be forged whether to go for Constituent Assembly (CA) revival or holding of fresh election through discussion.
On the occasion, NC central member Bal Bahadur KC said the NC was not ready to exchange constitution with state power, as constitution making and ascent to power are different things.
Noting that the NC is not in favour of Presidential rule, he stressed the need to hold election to CA instead of reviving the dissolved CA.
NC Bhaktapur, Constituency-1 President Krishna Lal Bhandel chaired the programme.
