The first phase of the campaign shall cover 15 districts in the mid and far western region including Banke, Bardia, Dang, Surkhet, Pyuthan, Rolpa, Accham, Bajura, Bajhang, Baitedi, Dadeldhura, Darchula, Kailali and Kanchanpur.

The campaign shall run until March 27 and all necessary preparations for it has been completed with the vaccines already sent to the concerned districts, said Administrator at the District Public Health Office, Jeevan Kumar Malla.
Some 172,000 of the around 660,000 children born in Nepal every year are vulnerable to measles infection, adds Malla.
Some 15,535 people in Nepal are reported to be suffering from measles infection and of them 6,091 are women. So there is a high risk of the women transferring the disease to their offspring.
Under the campaign, anti-polio vaccines shall be administered against children below five years in the district.
