KATHMANDU: Netra Bhatta and Yuvraj Shrestha struck explosive half centuries to steer Nepal Telecom to an eight-wicket victory over Private Public Partner (PPP), while You We Rangers beat Max Media by 27 runs in the Wai Wai Corporate Premier League Twenty20 Cricket Tournament here at the Tribhuvan University Stadium today.

Electing to bat first, PPP made a huge 173-3 in their allotted 20 overs but whirlwind half centuries from Netra Bhatta and Yuvraj made the total look too small as Nepal Telecom overcame the total for the loss of two wickets in just 15.4 overs.

Mandip Rai top scored with an unbeaten 71 while Amardeep Mahato contributed 47 and Sujan Chaudhary 21 not out for PPP. Mandip struck nine fours and two sixes in his 55-ball knock while Amardeep hit eight fours in his 35-ball innings. Binaya Pokharel grabbed two and Gopal KC took one wicket for Nepal Telecom.

In reply, Netra and Yuvraj never let the PPP bowlers to dominate them as they clobbered the ball all around the grounds. Man-of-the-match Netra made 62 from 40 deliveries including nine hits to the fence while Yuvraj remained unbeaten on 55. Yuvraj struck five boundaries and a six in his 41-ball knock while Dipendra Lal Shrestha also played a 23-run cameo from 10 balls which included five hits to the fence. Amardeep and Bikash Sharma claimed one wicket each for PPP.

In the second game of the day, You We Rangers were dismissed for 153 runs in 19.2 overs but defended the total by restricting Max Media for 126-8 in 20 overs.

Chiraj Mahipal hit an explosive 47 runs to help You We post a competitive total. He struck seven fours and a six in his 28-ball innings. Rahul Dhanuka (15), Dinesh Bohara (12) and Piyush Goenka (11) also chipped in valuable runs to the You We total. Rajat Rana, who was declared the man-of-the-match, completed a five-wicket haul for Max Media while Saroj Maharjan bagged three wickets.

In reply, Kuldip Malla scored a fluent 36-ball 38 and Rajat Rana made unbeaten 26 runs but could not avert Max Media from losing the match. Rahul Dhanuka took three while Pratik Bagaria and Chirag grabbed two wickets apiece for You We Rangers.
