KATHMANDU: Newly-appointed Nepali Ambassador to Myanmar Paras Ghimire has said that economic diplomacy for the promotion of foreign assistance and investments in Nepal was his main agenda.
Speaking at a programme organised to honor him and newly-appointed Ambassador of Myanmar to Nepal U Aye Khaing, Ambassador Ghimire said he would take initiative to bring in investment from the Government of Myanmar and the private sector there for Nepal's tourism, hydropower and foreign trade.
On the occasion, former minister Salim Miya Ansari said that Buddhist pilgrims from Myanmar could be attracted to Nepal if direct air services between Nepal and Myanmar were established.
President of the Nepal Journalists Association (NJA) Manjuratna Shakya said the relations between the two countries will be further expanded in the term of the both the ambassadors.
