KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs Madhav Ghimire informed that Malaysia's Ambassador to Nepal has been summoned to acquire information about the attack on Nepali migrant workers in Johor state of Malayasia.
The Malaysian diplomat will meet the Nepali authorities at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this afternoon.
Though it is yet to be verified by the Nepali and Malaysian authorities, online and electronic media have reported that at least six Nepalis were murdered and 18 were injured by an armed group of locals in a company hostel on Sunday.
MoHA will release a formal press statement after all the information is verified, Minister Ghimire told THT Online.
He further rubbished the media reports that have mentioned that he verified the deaths in Malaysia.
“I haven't received any death report yet. Neither did I verify the information, nor I know how media reported that,” he said.
