Nepal-Tibet trade up by 90 pc

BEIJING: Nepal's trade with Tibet, the autonomous region of China, increased by over 90 per cent in January of this year.

The trade between the two countries in January reached some 60 million US dollars, said Tibet Customs Office.

Tibet's entire foreign trade in the same period has been recorded 87.6 million US dollars.

Nepal is the Tibet's largest international trade partner for the last decade, mentioned the Chinese media quoting the Tibet Customs Office.

In 2010, the bilateral trade volume between Nepal and China totaled 542 US dollars -- up 65 per cent from a year ago.
