Nepalgunj to get Olympic size swimming pool

NEPALGUNJ: Construction work of a modern swimming pool at Nepalgunj Stadium area has been expedited.
The government has for the time being provided Rs. 10 million for the construction of a 50-meter long and 15 meter wide swimming pool of international standard.
According to Chairman of the Regional Sports Development Committee, Akal Bahadur Bam, the total cost of the swimming pool is expected to be Rs. 100 million.
It is said that the swimming pool would come into operation for nine months in a year in the context of Nepalgunj, which usually has excessively hot weather. A total of eight people could swim at a time in the swimming pool.
It is believed that national level swimming competition could be organised and it will help produce swimming players after the construction of the swimming pool.
