KATHMANDU: Chairman of the CPN-UML‚ Jhalanath Khanal said that there was no secret agreement made between the UCPN-Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and himself.

Arrived at Ichangunarayan to address an orientation to the UML cadres organised by the area organisation committee constituency no 7‚ Kathmandu today‚ chairman Khanal said to the media‚ "It is not necessary to make anything secret as we‚ even the Maoist‚ have been in open atmosphere to hold talks."

All should make efforts for national consensus‚ he said‚ adding that it will be clear who to choose as prime minister after the basis for consensus is made.

Earlier‚ addressing the cadres‚ Chairman Khanal urged the party cadres to be devoted to constitution making and establishment of peace as these are the important mandate at present.

Recalling that the meetings at Gokarna‚ Hattiban‚ Singh Durbar‚ and the Peace Ministry were making headway to success‚ he said quicker the consensus‚ faster the constitution.

About his party‚ he made a comment that 99 percent of UML´s cadres were for unity and discipline‚ so any exaggeration against the party decision would carry no meaning.

Meanwhile‚ speaking at the eighth convention of the Parbat-Kathmandu Liaison Committee in the capital‚ Chairman Khanal said the new government should be formed immediately as the country could not remain without government.

However‚ he said government under the Maoist leadership was impossible till the conclusion of the peace process.
