No statute before PLA management: Dr Mahat

NUWAKOT: Nepali Congress leader Ram Sharan Mahat said that constitution can not be promulgated on May 28 without management and integration of the PLA combatants.
Speaking at a programme here today, he said promulgation of the constitution in the slated time is not possible due to the slow progress in the management of the Maoist combatants and weapons though the constitution writing process is in the final phase.
Saying no remarkable progress in constitution writing was held during the extended time of the Constituent Assembly, Mahat added that CA tenure cannot be extended until the Maoist party brings its clear format of the new constitution.
Mahat who is also the member of the army integration special committee said en masse entry of the PLA combatants into the security forces was not acceptable to the Nepali Congress.
