SINDHUPALCHOWK: Police on Monday night detained Dinesh Rokka (25) of Barhabise VDC-6 in possession of body parts of an endangered species of lizard family. Police seized pangolin scales weighing 49.2 kg at about 10pm during checking in Khokundol bazaar, along the Araniko highway. Rokka was on his way to smuggle the body parts across the border to Khasa of China, police said.
One killed in roof collapse
RUKUM: One person died and five others were injured when a roof of the house belonging to Ain Bahadur Pun at Khalanga VDC in Rukum collapsed on Tuesday. The dead has been identified as Priti Budha (14). Budha breathed her last while undergoing treatment at District Hospital. The injured – Purna Bahadur Pun, Gan Bahadur BK, Sanam Soni and Shakti Pun – are being treated in hospital. The condition of Rajani BK is said to be critical.
Three held with pistol
SINDHUPALCHOWK: Police on Monday night held three persons for possessing homemade pistol from Golche VDC. Detainees have been identified as Puncho Lama (25), Kale Man Kami (26) and Keshar Dong (31). According to Inspector at the District Police Office Sujan Kumar Rajbhandari, police had reached Singdorje, Golche and Kami villages in search of those, who had tried to explode a bomb a month ago in a programme, where Finance Minister Barsa Man Pun had taken part. The action against them will be taken as per weapons act, police informed.
