Oppons to gab on June 8 protest against polls

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC), the CPN-UML along with other fringe parties will sit together today to make preparations for the joint protest announced for June 8, against what they called the ‘unconstitutional move’ of the Maoist-led government to hold fresh CA polls.

They will throng NC party headquarters in Sanepa after 2 pm.

Saying that the government’s decision to hold fresh polls was unconstitutional and that the legitimacy of the PM has ended with the dissolution of the Constituent Assembly, Rastriya Janashakti Party, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, CPN-ML, Janamorcha-Nepal, Chure Bhawar Rastriya Party, Samajbadi Janata Party, Nepal Sadbhavana Party ( Anandi Devi), Rastriya Janabadi Morcha-Nepal, Nepal Loktantrik Samajbadi, CPN-United-Marxist, Samyukta Janamorcha-Nepal, CPN-Unified Revolutionary, CPN-Marxist, CPN- ML Janasamajbadi, Nepal Sukumbasi Party-Democratic, Churebhawar Rastriya Ekata Party- Nepal, along with the NC and the CPN-UML are expected to dwell over the talks to make the mass meeting of June 8 a success.

NC and UML have already directed their party cadres to play their effective roles to conclude the mass meeting against the dissolution of CA without amendment to the interim constitution.

For the oppositions, they are forced to hit the streets as constitutional crisis was created lately by the Maoist party's decision to hold elections.
